A table lamp is the quickest way to make a room feel warmer, and you don't need an electrician. Our range covers bedside lamps, living room lamps and statement pieces in ceramic, glass, rattan, timber and concrete from Telbix, CLA, Oriel, Mercator and Nordlux.
Choosing the right lamp
- BedsideThe bottom of the shade should sit at about eye level when you're sitting up in bed. With most bedside tables, that's a lamp around 55 to 70 cm tall.
- Living roomNext to a sofa, a lamp roughly the same height as its table puts the shade near shoulder height when you're seated.
- Shade widthKeep the shade narrower than the table so it doesn't overhang.
- GlobeA warm white globe, around 2700K, gives that cosy glow. Most of our lamps take a standard E27 or E14 globe.
Questions we get asked
What size table lamp suits a bedside table?
As a rule of thumb, the lamp and table together should add up to about 120 to 130 cm. A 60 cm bedside table suits a lamp of around 60 to 70 cm.
Do table lamps come with a globe?
It depends on the lamp. Each product page tells you whether a globe is included and which type it takes. If it's not included, our globe range has the right fit.
Can I use a smart globe in a table lamp?
Yes, as long as the cap type matches. A smart globe lets you dim or schedule the lamp from your phone. See our smart lighting.
